PPP seminar for public authorities and local governments
From the 22nd to the 24th of June, a PPP seminar for public authorities and local governments will take place. The event is a part of the World Bank project “Strengthening the use of public-private partnerships (PPP) for better management of public investment”. The project is financed from the “Good Governance and Investment Climate Reform” (GGICR) trust fund with the support of the UK Government.
The event is aimed at providing PPP practitioners with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the initiation, preparation and implementation of PPP projects, by familiarizing them with the content of the Public-Private Partnership Manual for Ukraine. This manual was created by the specialists of the Governance and Public Sector Management (GPSM) department and Infrastructure Finance, PPPs and Guarantees (IPG) Group of the World Bank, in collaboration with independent experts.
On the 22nd of June, on Tuesday, the Public-Private Partnership Manual for Ukraine will be presented by the World Bank experts, namely the Senior Public Sector Specialist, Nataliya Biletska and Senior РРР Consultant, Irina Zapatrina. The agenda of the first day encompasses the review of the volumes describing the first two phases of the PPP project lifecycle and a report on how to evaluate and manage unsolicited PPP proposals.
On the 23rd of June, a review of volumes describing the third and the fourth phases will take place. The participants will learn the recommended preparation procedure for the tender and procurement processes, as well as what challenges they might face when managing and implementing public-private partnership agreements.
On the 24th of June, the Senior Public-Private Partnership Specialist of World Bank, David Duarte, will describe the peculiarities of PPP projects evaluation and management.
