The PPP Agency director Niko Gachechyladze participated in the Istanbul PPP Week 2020

On November 4, 2020, Niko Gachechyladze and Yulia Skubak in the Istanbul PPP Week 2020 presented: 

• recent legislation changes in the field of PPP, 
• the first pilot concessions projects  in Ukraine,
• attractive PPP projects:

1. PPP program in the road industry 
2. new projects of concessions in the seaport “Chernomorsk”
3. Concession project of railway stations: Kharkiv, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Mykolayiv, Chop and Kyiv, implemented by Ukrzaliznytsia and RST of the Ministry of Infrastructure
4. PPP projects for regional airports infrastructure upgrade and development 
5. the project of underground multilevel parking construction in Lviv 

It should be noted that the participants of the event noted a positive trend in Ukraine regarding the implementation of PPP projects in Ukraine, including concessions.

Participation in Istanbul PPP Week 2020 allowed us to join the discussion on the important topic of the impact of COVID-19, the expected consequences and ways of transforming PPP projects with leaders, civil servants, PPP policymakers from different countries, potential investors and scholars that became the basis for taking into account the experience and lessons of other countries in the preparation of promising PPP projects in Ukraine, allowed to study the demand for PPP projects in Ukraine and provide potential investors and partners/consultants with information about projects in Ukraine, and, to lay the groundwork for further fruitful cooperation, capacity building and capacity to implement PPP pilot projects.
