Preparation of pilot public investment projects has begun within the framework of the Ukraine Government PPF, which is financed by the PREPARE Ukraine project
As the Project Implementing Entity (PIE) under the Ministry of Economy’s general supervision, the PPP Agency is starting to prepare pilot public investment projects within the framework of the Ukraine Government PPF.
On August 29, the PPP Agency, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the State Institution “Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” signed a Memorandum of Understanding to define the framework for cooperation and organise technical assistance in preparing two pilot projects in the healthcare sector:
- “Construction of a medical rehabilitation building for patients after organ transplantation at the Irpin branch of the State Non-Commercial Enterprise ‘Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine’ located at: Irpin, Vasyl Stus St., 31” and
- “Reconstruction of building lit. A of the State Non-Commercial Enterprise ‘Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine’ and renovation of departments providing medical assistance using organ and tissue transplantation”
Thus, for the first pilot projects, which are being supported by the World Bank, the Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction, and Reform Trust Fund (URTF) and other donors, we’ll be getting full investment feasibility studies ready, following the Ukrainian legislation rules and taking into account best international practices.
“I am confident that the Heart Institute’s projects are an excellent choice and will enable Ukrainians in need of organ transplants to receive treatment more quickly and to a higher standard in future. Even once the projects have a feasibility study in place, there will still be a long way to go before they can be implemented. However, properly prepared documentation will help to attract resources for the implementation of projects more quickly,” said Anna Artemenko, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine
We would like to remind that in July this year, the Government of Ukraine signed an agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to attract a grant for the implementation of the project “Preparation of Resilient Projects to Advance Recovery of Ukraine” (PREPARE Ukraine).
The PREPARE Ukraine project aims to support Ukraine in preparing for the implementation of projects within the framework of the Ukraine Government PPF, which have been identified as priorities in the Public Investment Management (PIM) process in Ukraine.
